Ahhh, the sometimes elusive positive attitude. At times, it seems like there is nothing to be positive about. Here are a few examples of things that can sink your attitude:
- Frustrated team members = can drain you
- Irate customers
- Broken Product(s)
- Constant policy changes
- The guy who walks in your office and never has anything positive to say…
1. Keeping It Positive.
Example: Down 10 runs in a baseball game. You can do one of two things:
- Hang your head and assume you will never cap a comeback. Just play out the rest of the innings and wait to lose the game.
- Or, look at the positives – we are only down by 10. Encourage each other at every ‘at bat’, every catch, and every ‘out’ (on the other team). Cue the comeback music in your head and visualize the win.
Try it and watch how infectious it can be. On the flip side – negativity can have the same effect.
2. We’re In It Together
Remember, we are all on the same wagon heading in the same direction. If you don’t want to be on the ride… its simple – get off and make room for someone who wants to be.
Find the positive in everything or at least find a perspective that highlights the positive.
